My mom taught me how to sew when I was a toddler. As much as I cringe now thinking about it, I gave up sewing when I went to high school because it was no longer "cool" to make your own clothes (thanks 80's/90's babies).
While working as a Physical Therapist Assistant, I started embroidering as a hobby, making items for family, friends, and coworkers. The demand and praise kept me busy (understatement of the century). I decided to started my own business, Sew Sweet Monogramming, in 2010 because I desperately wanted to supplement my income.
After years of working in healthcare, I traded in my scrubs for a ring light and a vibrant Facebook group. In the fall of 2019, I opened Sew Sweet Academy, a machine embroidery membership community where I go step by step, stitch by stitch, guiding my members through their projects from start to finish.
I have helped many embroiders go from being minimal-skill hobbyists to masters of embroidery without frustration and overwhelm, just like I did for myself.
